I used this method but I figured out the hard way that you need to put a little cotton from a cotton ball were you would put you mouth so if you're using a finer substance you wont inhale and possibly choke on your smoke.

I am a glassblower and been off the touch for a few years . I just fired up tonight and busted out a spin a rake faairly easy. and then said heck with it and flared open a tube and tried inside out again . I was pretty good at not losing Controll before but I lost control of the mouthpiece. it is in the kiln now and it is still a pipe with a slightly deformed mouthpiece. i didn't flare it enough so when I was designing the mouth area the stringers didn't stick so well to the end. so I guess my question is in the video it seemed so easy for the color to be cooked in . I always have to blow and condence and blown and co fence to even out and cook I'm everything . I have Nortel midrange. did he blow and condence a few different times
